Line Yahoo LY Corp, the operator of message app Line, said Tuesday that review of capital ties in parent company A Holdings Corp. is unlikely in the short term following the administrative guidance from Japan‘s Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications MIC over 2023’s data leak.

In a report that was recently submitted to the ministry in response to the administrative guidance issued in March and April 2024, LY Corp said, “We requested SoftBank Corp. and Naver Corp, the shareholders of A Holdings, to review the capital relationship of A Holdings as one of the measures to review the relationship in which we are subject to substantial capital control from the subcontractors.”


The company also added that it has been informed that both companies recognize the difficulties associated with short-term capital movements between them at this time. The report also outlined measures taken to prevent the recurrence of data leaks and included the relevant updates.
