LG Uplus, SNU publish white paper on future quantum communication

South Korean mobile carrier LG Uplus Corp. has published a white paper on future quantum communication in collaboration with a research team led by Lee Kyung-han, professor of electrical and computer engineering at Seoul National University, the company said on Sunday.

The white paper categorizes quantum information technology into quantum communication, quantum computing, and quantum sensing and focuses on the technological trends and development directions of quantum communication.

The white paper predicts that the demand for quantum communication will increase as the applications of quantum technologies such as quantum computing and quantum sensing expand.

LG Uplus aims to share a blueprint for the era of quantum communication through the white paper and plans to establish a roadmap for the country¡¯s quantum communication ecosystem.

It also plans to conduct research on key technologies required for next-generation communication networks.
